I think the online marathon is a good idea to encourage runners who may be afraid of taking on the marathon distance. It would help them to go out there - moving at their own pace and with no time limit looming - to build up their confidence and prove to themselves that they can indeed challenge their limits and complete the marathon distance.
Online marathon Is a good initiative that motivates individuals like me to start training and staying focused on the goals that we had set for ourselves.
Online race is a good way to run as you are not constrained by location or time, plus you are rewarded with a cool completion medal!

I think the online marathon is great as it keeps runners like us motivated to keep on going, while also giving new runners something to look forward to when they hit certain milestones in their running journey. All in all, it is a fun and creative way to promote healthy living through running.

Running a marathon change my mindset. When I'm running, it always reminds me to never give up, because in the year 2015 I almost cannot walk anymore and had to sit in a wheelchair. So after recovering, every step running on the road is so meaningful for me. So this online marathon series is a great motivation for me.

For me, running 42,195km aka marathon is still a dream... The longest distance I have ever made in one run was 35km. Without proper preparation before the running event, it will be very difficult to reach the finish line, especially if there is a cut off time. Do not forget also the recovery process after running a marathon, it will be very painful and takes time, if the preparation is lacking. Hopefully in 2020 I will be able to use the World Cities Online Challenge: Road to Marathon 2020 online races to complete a marathon without cut off time!

Simply put, from the second the gun goes off and the marathon has started with a bang. First, I get to go for a run with thousands of awesome people as crazy as myself, encourage others to keep going and finally test my mental strength for future marathons and ultramarathons.

To me, running a marathon is a culmination of many months of sweat and pain, concentrated into a brief period of weightlessness and efficiency. You run it at the peak of your fitness and invincibility. You will never feel as fast before or after the race until the next marathon comes around.
A marathon means to have fun and enjoy myself while testing what I’m capable of. It means I’m focused to cross the finish line and earn that medal, which I’ve worked very hard for. A marathon is a celebration of my passion for the sport.
